A Starry Morn

the air is crisp

a taste, a sip

of Autumn coming

it’s 3:30 in the morning

I sit here

beneath a blanket of stars

some seem near, others far

all sparkle against a muted black sky

the Little Dipper is easy to find

over there, three in a vertical line, hanging low

could it be Our Father, His Son and the Holy Ghost?

I am overwhelmed with wonder

of our most gracious Creator

sharing heaven’s bounty

placing stars a plenty

blessing His children on earth

who cannot thank Him enough

to be a descendant

one of millions, like the stars – not scant

but placed, righteous hand-picked

each one

His glory light

that we may shine by day and through each given night

Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise (Galatians 4:28).

Thank you for joining me here.

May God bless you this given day.

Love in Christ,
