Deliverance

“Hey Buddy”

As he stared at me

I thanked God for cows

All His foreknowledge and know-how

For think of milk

Its calcium, its fill

Sleepless nights call for a glass of warm milk

Chocolate chip cookies need to dunk

Homemade mac and cheese need spunk

Bones made alive

No matter how dry

And His promise

of deliverance

He sees you

He loves you

Trust His plan

To lift your feet and place you where you will stand

In a blessed land

Flowing with honey

And cow’s milk plenty

~~

I encountered this cow on my drive home last night. As I got closer, so he walked toward the fence near the road. I stopped right there in the middle of the road to take his picture. I just thought I was supposed to.

There are many passages in the Bible referring to cattle, animals in general.

But He led me in my thoughts to the “land flowing with milk and honey”.

Whatever it is you are stuck in, going through, He promises to bring you out. Trust Him.

“Go assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers – the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites … a land flowing with milk and honey’ (Exodus 3:16-17).

Have a beauty-full day.

If you want to join me over at juliedibblewrites.wordpress.com, I am blogging about how God showed up in the midst of our stormy beach vacation.

Love in Christ,

Julie

  1. Julie, you found this cow along the road, and it springboards into a poem filled with the richness of God’s Word. Our Lord leaves many nuggets to find in our own daily walk with Him. God’s peace to you and your family.
