God Says

God says, I AM THE ONLY GOD
Yet we insist on our own way and to heaven we poke and prod

God says, I AM THE ONLY NAME WHO SAVES
Yet we stumble, falling, landing close to the grave

God says, LET THE EARTH OPEN WIDE AND SALVATION SPRING UP
Yet we close our hearts and look down instead of up

Alexander Pope said to err is human
To forgive divine

When we cling to the vine
We have life until the end of time

Let us lay down the lion’s share of pride
And ask Jesus to clean our hearts on the inside

Give up the sin, weighing us down
Because God Himself has summoned me and you by name and reserved us a crown

God has bestowed a title of honor
To me , to you, no matter …

His promises are true
He will strengthen you

So from the rising of His sun
Until every day is done

We shall know
There is noooooo

Other

Who can love like Him
God, who sent His Son Jesus to atone for our sin

We shall bow
With humble hearts

Wondering how
We are chosen

Though we are broken
Our lives are for His glory

When we surrender our story
To He

The author and perfecter
Of our feeble faith

We will receive rains
Of heaven’s righteousness

We will be graced
With the Creator’s face

Upon us

In our current mess
God knows our debts,

all those times we placed bets
with the devil

no lets draw a line, lets plant our feet on level

holy ground

Let us honor Jesus’ sacrifice
Destroy our idols and give up that fight

To try and keep score
Earning grace, doing good, only be tempted to do more

Jesus welcomes all sinners, that’s you and me, at His door
When we hear His voice, His knock

Let us drop to our knees, repent
He will give us the key to unlock

His mercy and forgiveness
His compassion and goodness

Let us right now
Praise His mighty power

Proclaim the only name who saves
Jesus, our Lord and Savior within us

For the sake of my servant of Israel My chosen,

I summon you by name and bestow you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge Me.

I am the Lord, and there is no other, apart from Me there is no God.

I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged Me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides Me.

I am the Lord, and there is no other.

I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster.

I, the Lord, do all these things (Isaiah 45:4-7).

As we journey to the cross, where Jesus’ death and resurrection changed the world, let us remember to pause and ask Him to show us where we sin. In our hurried society, I am most sure the devil uses our lack of time to encourage distance from Our Most High God.
