Committing Children to Our Lord

pre-practice

Entering the land of football

Where fans and coaches and players

Give their all

Time, sweat, cash

Muscles, meals

Every ounce of one’s energy stash

I pray Jesus cover the season

Take away every reason

for gossip

for shame

for insult to His name

I pray He bless

those who seek Him in the mess

I pray He strengthen those who feel less

I pray He humbles those who walk in pride without confession

I pray our son grows

In ways only God knows

As he hits, grunts, holds

Yes, Lord, I commit Jackson to You, Our Great Potter who molds

And for our Braedon

braedonanddad

Entering high school as a freshman

Lord, You see his fears

You see them in total for all his earthly years

I pray Braedon leans close

To His Savior as he opens

his teen heart

to learn and love and become a part

of a friendship, Lord, You choose

one that honors Braedon in full

for he has grown used to losing

people for one reason or another

Yes, I surrender Braedon to the arms of Our Father

cousin

(Jackson left, Braedon middle, Cousin Sean right; from our visit July 4th)

How joyful are those who fear the Lord, all who follow His ways!

You will enjoy the fruit of your labor.

How joyful and prosperous you will be!

Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine,

flourishing within your home.

Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table~

That is the Lord’s blessing for those who fear Him (Psalm 128: 1-4 NLT).

Tough topic. Surrendering our children to Our Father in heaven, Our Father of all. We mama bears and papa bears sometimes be fooled into thinking we have lots of control over our how our children grow.

Join me today at 4pm Eastern time. I will go live at https://Facebook.com/jdibble4Him to read this poem, Scripture and encourage listeners on this topic.

If you want to read more about my struggle with Jackson playing football, go to https://juliedibblewrites.wordpress.com.

Have a beauty-full rest of this given summer day.

In Christ,

Julie
