Like fire emboldens
His light awakens
Tired, crusty bug-eaten branches
Searching for their next rations
Been dry for weeks
The puddles fill with mud and sleep
But oh …
On this eve of Sabbath
Jesus makes a straight path
To heaven’s reserve
Manna for trees trapped by a curb
Though their roots are hindered by cement
Our gracious God hears their lament
With praise they stretch to the sky
Not wanting to miss a single sigh
His breath, His presence
Overwhelms despair with goodness
Turns defeat on its head
Shines brightly His hope instead
For He is through every living thing
Listen tonight as the leaves on high sing

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all in all (Ephesians 4:4-6).

On my evening walk, I was struck by His light, the way it illuminates even the brownest of color. The photo you see is mine. It is a comfort to me somehow that God created the trees and me. He loves puppies and lady bugs and even rats. As all living things are from Him and seek them in their own way … may you and I grow in our thirst for His truth, the spiritual water quenching every need.

Beautiful photo. Isn’t it amazing how we and trees are codependent on the other. What an intricate world God created 🙂

Hi Stu! Yes, so amazing! I forgot as I wrote last night how we as humans need trees and plants, such careful attention to all creation. Thank you Jesus!

So beautiful Julie. As I was reading your words, and looking at your photo, the thought struck me that God is not stingy with His light. He shines it for all to see. What beauty He wants to illuminate for us. Thank you for your precious words tonight Dear Friend.
