If clouds had eyes
While they sailed in His wind across the skies
What would they see?
Would it be love in action?
Neighbors talking
Dogs and their people walking
Children playing in good ole fashioned grass
Symphonies praising with strings and brass
Or would it be evil?
Hard hearts plotting to kill
Addicts selling their bodies for the next pill
Young girls enslaved
Abortions paid
If clouds could see …
Through the trees
Into people’s homes and cars
Into schools and bars
Into alleys and into our scars …
Our God sees
He smiles, sheds tears, hears our pleas
For many have not turned back to Him in full, we still idolize
Our Self, our lies
Oh Holy Redeemer
Come nearer
Jesus, please!
We who try to listen to Your voice are asking on our knees
God speaks:
My power
Is at the ready – every moment of every hour
I choose the times, the reasons
Keeping my promises in every season
For those who try, let go and surrender
For those who don’t know, ask and I will show
I love my people
I call them by name
To rise from their graves
I am the only One who saves
Those who have ears
Listen, and let go of all your fears

Then I realized my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside.
I was so foolish and ignorant – I must have seemed like a senseless animal to You.
Yet I still belong to You; You hold my right hand.
You guide me with Your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.
Whom have I in heaven but You?
I desire You more than anything on earth.
My health may fail, and my spirit grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart.
He is mine forever (Psalm 73: 21-26 NLT).

Oh Julie, how beautiful. Truthful, raw and beautiful. For truly God waits with open arms ready to receive any who will come to Him may we surrender more of ourselves to Him who loved us best and most. Praying for many more to see Him and live Him. God bless you and continue to speak through you!

Thank you sister for your visit. I join you in that prayer, more sheep, Lord, more prodigals to return! May God continue to use you in your writing. May He continue to strengthen you in this season of life. Love, Julie

Indeed God sees & speaks but at times we are high on our pride to hear Him or even realize He is seeing.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Yes, Karen, we pray for others and for ourselves if struck with pride/jealousy when we are listening. Thank you, Jesus, for Your cleansing and lifting of hearts.

Hey Julie, You know when God says He uses people from far off lands to meet His purposes, He is not joking. Many a times we think of these as material things but lately I’m learning the greater purpose is in our spiritual needs. Reading your poems reminds me that. I have loved following you.
