A Warrior-Daughter

When heavy becomes light
When you find yourself soaring with eagles in flight
When your tension leaves
When your soul receives the blessing of reprieve

Sometimes it is simply given
Like a baked pie from the oven
You choose to partake
Or wait

Then other times
His peace
Requires releasing the stuck piece
Handing over the bitter root
Opening yourself to being pruned

Your past does not define you
God will use every tear, every wrong to refine you
Liken us to His Son, the Christ
We overcome by letting Him in
We become warriors, freedom-walking
We conquer demons new and old
Calling upon His power just as He told

My story is my truth
I don’t need proof
When the Author and Finisher
When He who speaks with flames of fire
Holds me
Molds me
Continues to call me, Daughter

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is that overcomes the world? One the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God (1 John 5:1-5).

Thank you for joining to read this poem today. Are you a son or daughter of God? Do you know you overcome the world as you walk by faith and keep His commands?
