Insomnia

starsdog

not a wink

an all-night think

asking Jesus

who lives in us

Lord, did I obey

Your commands or am I walking on the fray

the fringe

close to a binge on sin?

not the old alcohol kind

the ones mostly in my mind

bed-linen

does He want us to obey without question?

what if we are unsure, allowing the devil of doubt to mention …

well, we can’t put a guard over the enemy’s mouth

but we can send him south

into pig mouths

boar

in Jesus holy name

victory we proclaim

free

unbound

ears to hear Heaven’s sound

sunrisetoo

Hallelujahs

angels dancing all around

“When Jesus had called the Twelve together, He gave them the power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and He sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God to heal the sick. He told them: ‘Take nothing for the journey, no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. Whatever house your enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them. So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere” (Luke 9:1-6).

We have the power of Jesus in us if we have accepted Him as Lord and Savior. As followers of Jesus, we shall be casting out demons daily, for the devil lurks around those doing Kingdom work.

If you need words to rebuke the devil, use those of Jesus Himself:

“Get behind me satan! You are a stumbling block to me and you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns” (Matthew 16:23).

If you don’t know Jesus, His love is amazing for all people, no matter what you have said or done, you are welcome to come to Him. Forgiveness of all your mistakes and grace to cover you awaits. Jesus loves you. Jesus loves each and every person on the planet, whether they know Him or not.
