In Honor of Our Persecuted Brothers and Sisters

When you walk at dusk

You must

Be attune

To His chorus of birds

Wings flapping

Excitedly ending their day

Anticipating the stillness

muting

For His birds know this

His lilac takes a turn

lilac

Releasing His aroma

Drawing us to yearn

Oh His sky!

dusk

Turning down its daylight

Muting the busy

Smoothing with peace
Paving the Way for our sleep

He created the night

nightpic

To whisper perfect love into every fright

To pour us Moon-drink

For our thirsty praying souls

Worried for others

Lifting up our persecuted sisters and brothers

In the coming silence

We trust Our Lord hears us

~~~
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD, their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken (Isaiah 54:17 NLT).
Some days it is just simply hard to wait for Jesus to return. Tragedy upon tragedy, people dying because they love Him.
The hard truth is if we love Jesus, we must be ready to die for Him at any turn (John 15:18-25).
Would you join me in prayer for those mourning in Sri Lanka and for those plotting and killing in Sri Lanka?
Dear Mighty Sovereign Lord,
We praise Your holiness and righteousness Lord. You are Our Father in Heaven who loves Your people.
We ask for Your mercy upon us as we struggle not to hurl why’s at heaven. We ask for Your mercy upon those with darkened hearts. Who among them is like the repentant thief who hung next to Jesus? Who among them will be saved?
We ask for Your holy healing Spirit to descend upon those in grief and mourning. We ask that You surround each grieving soul with angels to minister to their every need, for You are Our Provider.
We ask if the United States is in Your plan to respond to please give Your wisdom and direction to President Trump.
We thank You, Father, in advance for listening to us. We thank You, Father, for what You will do to intervene and protect Your children in Sri Lanka and the other places where believers are persecuted.
We pray these things in Your Son’s Powerful Name Jesus,
Amen
Thank you for joining tonight. We can hold each other up as we bear each other’s burdens.
All photos in this post are mine.
In Christ,
Julie
