Forgiveness
When left in our weakness, an abyss
Such fear
To admit wrong and come near
Oh the pride inside
Whispering lies
About running the race a loner
bonified “strong” never needing atonement
Here’s the thing
Whatever song you choose to sing
Your life, as is mine and all, is an issue
Our Father in heaven has used many a tissue
When His people created for His glory
Turn away, worship self, write their own story
We are all sinners
Among us you will not find a winner
Remember the disciples’ talk?
Vying for the seat next to Jesus, Lord of All
Yes, they were looking toward heaven
With self-gain, the prize before the testing
Daily, walk to the cross
In surrender we are closest, nothing except sin is lost
Pause and pray
Along the way
Check your heart
For the trail of sin born in at the start
Once there,
Go closer, Jesus invites you to come near
Talk, cry, scream
Ask Holy Spirit to unstitch every seam
As you unravel
Revel in His power
Imagine that very hour
The earth went black
Peter took back
His love for Jesus
When Jesus’ body hung
When hell was undone
His death, one part
The payment for yours and my depart
From what is holy and right
All that is abominable in Gods sight
Jesus’ body and blood and failing breath
Paid for all sin, future past and present
So then?
We tarry not sure when
His grace will rain
On our every stain
His forgiveness
Will be believed and received
His power on the rise will unleash
Upon every cell in our soul saved, saved from every evil spirit and leech
You are grafted in
Forgiven
Free
To be
His daughter, His son
Who returns often
To the cross to anchor in the gift of redemption
To bring others here
Be witness as they unload the weight of sin, much too heavy for any of us to bear

If we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His world is not in us.
Dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but for the sins of the whole world (1 John 1:8-2:2).

“Go closer, Jesus invites you to come near

These words touch me so deeply today! What feels like unraveling of everything viable to me, is just the unraveling of my brokenness, so that He can come in with His power and remake me in His beautiful likeness. His power restores all that gets lost in this broken world. Oh, how I need Him in those unstitched seams of my old way of living. Thank you for reminding me of these precious thoughts today, Dear Friend! Love & Hugs!
