Stars and Their Names

My eyes scour

Night’s darkest hour

nightwoman

Seeking His moon

Humming a tune

Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Instead, I spy His millions of stars

Twinkling, holy

Named by Our Ever Only

What can wash away my sin?

Oh, how I need You, my Lord

One day I shall know their names in your Star Record

For now I pray to be near, so near I lose every ounce of fear

Sometimes in Your presence I know forever

heavensing

I whisper Hallelujah

Into Heaven’s ear

I praise Your name, Jesus, in secret …  behind closed doors

And then out for all to hear

Always through all of my days,

You are my ever-burning Star of Wonder, my only Powerful Savior

“He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power” (Psalm 147:4-5).

Welcome all new followers and those who have been hanging with me awhile now. Just a note, I do not know for certain if we will find out the names of the stars when we meet Him in heaven. I am curious, but we all know what happens to the cat 🙂 So I hope I won’t arrive at the pearly gates with a boat-load of questions. Rather, I sense He uses our earthly questions to keep stirring our wonder and awe.

Join me at 12pm Eastern time for a quick share of how God stirred me this morning. I will go live at https://Facebook.com/jdibble4Him

Have a blessed day, Poetry Friends,

In Christ,

Julie

  1. Dear Julie, these are such inspiring thoughts about our God’s beauty in the heavens. I love this line: “For now I pray to be near, so near I lose every ounce of fear.” The God who created it all, calls us near–how wonderful! Thank you for sharing these precious words tonight.
