Joy in My Soul

fireinmysoul

Joy in my soul
Burns to a boil
I cannot contain
The revelations in my brain
The aches of my heart
Not of pain
But pangs from the very start

pregnant
He placed them there
In me His child
For He wants me not to fear
But to lean in, breathe Him in
Unblock my ears

listen
So I may hear the words of life
Spoken over all earthly strife
So that I may raise my sword
As I battle, wielding His Word
Courage, be bold
Don’t be sold
By what the wily world has to offer
Your Lord and Savior is ever higher
Most holy
And the only way
To peace and joy
The real thing, not a decoy
What we need not understand

joy
Just open our surrendered hands
Exchanging our will for His
Walking in faith the rest of our days in Victory’s bliss

~~~
In fact this is love for God: to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God (1 John 5:3-5).
I am preparing a message on joy to bring to a group of God-chosen men and women this Sunday. Joy is ours to grab onto, to hold it close. Praying you know the One who gives joy.
  1. What a blessing of joy you showered on me through this poem! Thank you. I need God’s truth to be bigger than my inner voice and bigger than the world’s noise. You are right, the Bible is my weapon of daily battle, for He calls to come near and rest my will in His. For He is Almighty God, Savior and has unending love for my soul. Thank you for this joyful reminder. Bless you, Julie!
  2. I loved these lines especially today:
    “For He wants me not to fear
    But to lean in, breathe Him in
    Unblock my ears”
    He keeps calling me to lean in, and I love that thought to breathe Him in. His breath will open my heart and unblock my ears to hear Him. Thank you for sharing your beautiful poem today. Just what I needed, such a gift. I will pray for your weekend of teaching! Blessings and Love!
