A Poem for the Hurting in Pittsburgh

There she sits amidst the debris

All around her

Bodies injured and slain

She seeks wisdom

Staring as high as her angel eyes will carry

What do you seek, o heavenly maid?

“Lord, all,

we all need the Way,

the broken,

the blue warriors gone,

the families,

those with different beliefs,

Lord, we all need the Way”

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Matthew 10:28).

The time is now to accept Jesus into your heart. Our time on earth is short and can be shorter in the face of evil. I will not fear my death, whenever it comes, because I know Jesus.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

Before you leave this page, would you join me in prayer?

Dear Heavenly Father,

We praise Your power, Your knowledge of all things. We know You saw today’s horrific events. We ask in Your Son’s Holy Name Jesus that You heal and revive the wounded. Lord, raise life from death in the community, in the families, in the synagogue. We believe You can do this if it is Your will.

In Jesus name, Amen
