Distant rhythms
Drums and strums
Music made
Under the evening shade
The bright half moon
Lulled by the school band’s swoon
United, ignited
Energy livening the arrival of night
I count this brisk walk …
With no talk
But melodies …
Oh the rhapsody …
Reverberating deep
A gift I may keep
His fullness of joy
Yet when we feel our cup
Overflow off the tippy top
We look up
Lo, there she was
Outside her house
I said hello
She beckoned me over
A Halloween tree
Moments of sharing
Me in His perfect place
Receiving her stories with His grace
Reminding her of my name
So we can connect next time …
His joy and mine
For I am entwined
With He who is the vine

I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing (John 15:5).
