Cozy in my nook
Reading a good book
Whispered in my Spirit
Step outside, only He knows what you may find
Could be thwarting, could be kind
Less pure, more tart
The sky, light gray
Tweeting birds fly away
To higher ground
Where they know to be found
Who made the tallest trees
For around the corner awaits a tender thrill
In Autumn’s wake
Go ahead, knock
And knock again
For I hold the keys
To every victory, to every friend
The Lord established His throne in heaven and His kingdom rules over all.
Praise the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, who obey His word.
Praise the Lord, all His heavenly hosts, you His servants who do His will.
Praise the Lord, all His works, everywhere in His dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul (Psalm 103: 19-22).
I have wandered in the desert of loneliness, sometimes for years. This poem is written in honor of all who are struggling with feeling alone. There are some close to me I keep in prayer for this reason.
The closer I lean into who Jesus is, the less lonely times I have. He promises to be with us until the end of time (Matthew 28:20). His promises are true, never to fail us. It also helps me to remember Jesus reigns over all areas of my life, not just certain aspects.
The photos in this post are mine.
The book is The Burden is Light by Eugenia Price.
