When You Can’t See Clearly

helenwindow

When what you see
Is speckled over
Dotted with
Interruption
Irritation
Litigation
Glossed with
Shame
Guilt
A lack of motivation

Close your eyes
Sense His light
Growing
Ever brighter in the dark
Where the bark bites
And fear fights

His light
Warms from the inside
Heals the wounded
What-about-me pride
Shines for all
Each one as worthy as the next
We all bow humbly knowing His plan is best

May His fire fall
Morning through night
Guiding
The believing
Illuminating a streak
Of make-no-mistake
Living, breathing Hope
For all those beyond the scope

His light of glory
Revealing secrets
Haunted moments
Hundreds of regrets
His light of glory
Burning through the entire milieu
to cleanse …

A holy amends

Never fear
For the Light of the World lives here

And now the Lord speaks-the One who formed me in my mother’s womb to be His servant, who commissioned me to bring Israel back to Him.

The Lord has honored me, and my God has given me strength.

He says, “You will do more than restore the people of Israel to me. I will make you a light to the Gentiles, and you will bring my salvation to the ends of the earth” (Isaiah 49:5-6, NLT).

For all of us who want to please God with our service to Him, for all who want the blind to see and the lame to walk in His power, for all who love God but know not their purpose in His Kingdom … He sees us. He honors us. He strengthens us. He has plans for us bigger than what we have imagined for ourselves.

Today, I head south. Going to a writer’s retreat this coming week to learn and grow and listen for what God wants me to write.

The photo in this post is mine.

I expect to have a poem or two to post before I come home next Wednesday.

In the meantime, if you missed the current story on the other blog, HIs Spirit Upon Us, Retreat Part 2 is up at https://juliedibblewrites.wordpress.com

  1. Beautiful thoughts, Julie. I see how our Lord is working within you the things that He wants to share with those around you. He is so good to bring His light home in our hearts! Prayers and blessings for you as you travel again!

  2. Powerful words speaking volumes to my heart this morning. The last stanza…”His light if glory burning through the entire milieu…” Wow! His light is the most brilliant. We desire it, yet fear it when it reveals the depth of us. Thank God for mercy and grace that follow us all the days of our life. Have a blessed weekend!
