Leaf after leaf
Falling
Brittle
Crackled
Piled
Soon to be raked
Swept
Away
Decay
Some trees rejuvenate
Clinging to green
Springing hope
The time to be sprung
Back to life
Seasons tell us things
Only Jesus, the Word brings
Joy from pain
Strength from sorrow
Renews our tomorrows
In life and death
His breath
Never ceases
Only increases
Until each reach
His glory Hallelujah
Forever and ever

This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord (Ezekiel 37:5-6).

I pray this poem renews your hope where it has failed and opens your lungs to receive His life-giving breath.

What an encouraging poem and scripture! “His breath never ceases”. He can make all things new, even me! Thank you for these hope-filled words.
