Her body not her own
Beaten
Torn
Her name spoken with scorn
Jesus loves her
Cares for her scars
Reminds her of how far
She has come
Led by His stripes
He heals her strife
Pain though still creeps in the night
Why won’t her ears hear truth?
He is with her
Always
Indwells
Yet her heart says empty
Will it be like His tomb?
Open
Chosen
Rising above?
Please, Lord, give her life
Stream Your light
Into her soul
Where she will know
You are here
And with you she is an heir
There is victory in all she has had to bear
Glory in Your highest,
angel armies singing brightest
her heart forever lightened~

This poem was written with a heavy heart for all who have suffered abuse. If you or someone you know is struggling to heal, I offer you Psalm 13 to pray.
If you or someone you love is depressed and thinking about suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255.
If you are currently living in an abusive situation, please prioritize physical safety. Local police, local pastors, local shelters as well as your own friends and family can all be resources.
Please share on social media as we never know where men and women are who have been victimized.
May Our Mighty God bless you and keep you safe.
In Christ Alone,
Julie
