Here it comes! A faith test
Lest we question what’s best
Abraham’s heart
Would have finished what he started
Laying Isaac on the altar
All feelings pushed aside so his faith would not falter
What about you?
When has faith cornered you?
Forced you to choose
Between ok and truth
Engage in plain evil
Or waltz with an angel dressed like the devil?
The thing is we
Are not privy
To His sovereign plans
Intended to build strength in every woman, child, and man
Stay in prayer
With every hope to hear
His heavenly direction
Designed for you, a specific lesson
Not why, Lord, but what
What do You have for us?
For Your truth dispels …
Seek Your wisdom
And it will be given
To those who believe
Who ask sincerely, for we do not want to doubt or be deceived
Abraham trusted:
what lacked common sense
what felt wrong
what could have filled his fatherly heart with hate
No! He lived his faith
Bowing to the Only living God known to make our paths straight
Can we do that?
Push aside fear, frustration and the inclination to turn one’s nose up at
Can we press the Jesus-pause?
Say His name and declare we will not withdraw
From here, in the midst of rubble, Lord, where?
He says with loving hands
Resting on our shoulders,
“I have given you the key to eternity
Soak in my Fathers Word
Tell me everything from your littlest concern
To the crossroads you face
Where you feel alone without a trace
I Am
The Way
The Truth
The Life
You will have all things through Me
If you abide, especially in times of testing, for those are times of great need.”

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love-Isaac- and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you” (Genesis 22:1-2).
In my devotion this morning, Oswald Chambers assures us “the Christian life is gloriously difficult, but its difficulty does not make us faint and cave in-it stirs us up to overcome” (My Utmost for His Highest). I have come to envision myself as a warrior of faith, not in my own strength mind you. God equips us to be His warriors. More about that each Wednesday at https://Facebook.com/jdibble4Him
Today at 2pm Eastern time, I will go live on that Facebook page to read this poem. Hope to see you there.
