The Firefly Way: A #Poem

Sitting outside
Watching the fire flies
Light up the night
Skimming grass tops
Lining fence posts
Mere moments
Illuminate
The entire
Neighborhood fate

Whose plight needs their sight?
What puzzle requires their ever so slight brief bright?
As they move and commune
A path
A way
Unafraid

For they are equipped by God
To celebrate His Son
A gift we can join in
Learning from John the Baptist
The message to point high
Anointed
Cloisters of firefly light

The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus (John 1:35-37).

  2. Thank you for this sweet confirmation of what the Lord was speaking to me last night! As I watched our town’s fireworks from my second story window, the fireflies seemed to echo the lights and flew upwards so beautifully! It all stirred such a longing in my heart for Heaven, even as my own physical pain was so hard. And then to wake up to read your words here. Wow. God is so good. Blessings to you Dear Sister!
