His Beach Ways: A #Poem

cardgame

Packing
Stacking
Snacks and cards
Swim suits and jars
Of peanut the butter
What could be better?
Than a sandwich stuck in sand?
Or the crisp skin undone in the sun?

Oooh
Pause and brew
Breathe in His sea
Salt-sprinkled air
Calling you to rest
Twist your toes
And forget about being the best
Social media is barred from the beach

Have you not heard?
The internet connection is absurd
Like the waves scooped it up and sent it back to its source
Our only true King of the Universe

braedonwaves

Allow the ebb and flow
Of His ocean
Lull you to slow
Listen to its rhythm
The push and pull
Then the letting go
Creatures headed for land
Cannot escape His plan
To gently roll
into the mysterious hole
The dark sea-bottom stroll

Honing our attention
Seeking first His Kingdom
Means we wait
Without complaint
For Him to reveal
With supernatural zeal
Treasure troves
Worth more than gold
Spiritual feed
For which Christ bled
All things are possible
Not by your strength but His instead

So while at the beach
Seek
And
You
Shall
Find
More
Than
Shells
Look past
What each T-shirt shop sells

Our minds simply cannot conceive
The magnanimous amount of grace
He has already prepared us to receive

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over and through all in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: ‘When He ascended on high, He took many captives and gave gifts to His people’ (Ephesians 4: 4-7).
